Simply Wow.

Did you enjoy the special effects of the original King Kong and the Matrix movies mixed in with a little Dances With Wolves? Go see Avatar in 3D. The imagination, details, depth and scope of this movie is amazing. The future of film making is here and it doesn’t disappoint. Thank me afterwards. I’m thanking my good friend Jacob who took me to go see the visually best film I’ve seen in a long time and a great story today.

Fire Ant Brain Eaters & Zombies

Mad scientists from the University of Texas are experimenting with fire ant-brain-eating flies to help control the fire ant infestation here. Phorid flies attack and inject their larvae inside the ant’s head. The larvae then feed on the ant’s brains, which cause their heads to fall off. The ants can still walk around for a couple of weeks but no longer pose a threat. Finally, they die.

One has to wonder when phorid flies will turn on their captors and eat our brains…

It Was The Best Of Times…

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness…"
— Charles Dickens, Tale of Two Cities

The economy is in the toilet. Companies are irresponsible and reward those that they rely on with layoffs & cutbacks. Current events from across the globe are negative. The United States is still waging war on 2 third world countries. Depression? Recession?

Upon reflection, this is a wake up call that will help us rise out of this mess. Financial responsibility will be priority one from households to boardrooms. We will innovate and create. The world will rebound and we will find ourselves better and smarter.

We will not find hope or change with our governments. We have hope and desire change through ourselves and each other.

What are you doing to make yourself better? How are you innovating, becoming more responsible? Add your comments with either text or video replies!

Excuse Me, Your Ass Just Called

I’ve been accused by friends and family alike that I “butt dial”. This means that when my mobile phone is in my pockets and gets sat on, it dials whatever lucky soul I last talked to . My father has mentioned he heard me drive down the road with music in the background. Wonder if he picked up on the road rage? Imagine my surprise when I came across an advertisement by T-Mobile recently:

Video Mojo Now In HD

**UPDATE**

Flip Mino HD Test from Mojo Denbow on Vimeo.

After discovering a great deal on this ultra-portable HD camera from Amazon.com, I ordered immediately. Initial tests do not disappoint but did not have enough time in the day to put it through it’s paces. Please give me feedback after viewing!!

What is very impressive to me right out of the box was the fact that this camera will store 2GB (1 hour) of HD footage. Very compact and lighter than our 1st gen 30 minute Flip camera. Here is my mobile phone side-by-side as a comparison. Amazing!

**ORIGINAL POST**

As a way to preserve memories and maintain a video blog, we have just upgraded our video mojo. Originally we purchased a Sony Handi cam but the transfer/edit process is a time suck. Then we purchased the super, easy to use 1st gen Flip camera. Now that Flip has introduced the Flip Mino in high definition for up to an hour, I had to jump on it. The deal from Amazon.com included free tripod and action mount too (great for watching me fly head over heels as I crash the bicycle).

More details and video review as soon as it arrives (next day) on Video Mojo!

Jay can has one too

Blues Have Got A Hold of Me

Ever since the House of Blues opened up their joint here in Houston, I have been turning up the blues music again. The sound that launched jazz, rock and even country music has invaded my iPod once again. Even rediscovered a forgotten podcast called the Roadhouse Blues (the finest blues you’ve never heard).

Here is a recent photo & video of the great, always entertaining Buddy Guy that I shot at the City Stages music festival in Birmingham. Close your eyes and soak it in!
